Khajavi Residence by Bijan & Associates

California-based firm Bijan & Associates Architecture have designed Khajavi Residence:
On 23rd Street, in Santa Monica, California, most of the homes represent old fashioned and disconnected structures. The site is about 8,800 square feet abutting an alley in the rear. Our commission was to design a 3,000 square feet home with adequate areas for entertainment, and maximum integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. A lap swimming pool in a wide side yard, provides an inviting entrance to the house from the side yard. Large pocket and disappearing glass doors create maximum view and interaction between living area and the usable outdoor deck. (more…)

Wissioming2 House by Robert M Gurney Architect

American architect Robert M. Gurney has designed the Wissioming2 House in Glen Echo, Maryland. The house sited on a sloping, wooded lot with distant views of the Potomac River. The house is organized into two volumes connected with glass bridges that span a reflecting pool which separates the volumes. Secondary volumes intersect and overlap the two larger structures rendering the composition more dynamic. Material changes in the various elements intensify the relationships. Expanses of glass open to a terrace organized around a swimming pool with two “infinity” edges reinforcing the connectivity to the wooded landscape. (more…)

Javier Artadi has designed a beach house in Las Arenas, Lima, Peru. The project consists of a small house on a beach a hundred miles south of Lima and explores the expansion of the conventional uses of a beach house. To that end, a container box has been created, a space that integrates the living-dining room and terrace with pool, within which various elements have been designed (conventional and unconventional furniture) that offer multiple use options.
