Contemporary Vame House by SAOTA

Vame House by SAOTA
The Vame House is designed by SAOTA in Yzerfontein to overcome the rough winters and strong winds. Formed in contemporary L shape, the house absolutely gives beauty and livable outdoor spaces in simplicity and logic. An expansive timber shutters placed on front to protect the inside from gusty beachfront winds.

Warm and natural interior Vame House by SAOTA
To maximize the view, a floor to ceiling windows built look out onto sandy dunes and a long ocean view. Cement floors create a surprisingly warm and natural feel, and the open kitchen and dining area connects to a living space with movable walls. Next to the kitchen is a dark floating wood staircase with slabs that extend from the wall toward the second floor. Everything above is warm and homey, with light colored walls accented only by dark doors and counters that provide strong contrast. Everything about the home is minimal and comfortable, founded on simplicity but executed on with careful attention to detail and the sort of clean contemporary feel that balances cool modern lines with warmth and safety.
