Hijauan House by Twenty-Nine Design

Description of Hijauan House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by Twenty-Nine Design:
Hijauan is a house in the city of Kuala Lumpur. Situated on a small plot in a mature residential development, we took the Malay term “Hijau” meaning “green” as our design directive. Our aim was to avoid cutting a single tree on site. As such, the house notches its way around the existing greenery, especially the two majestic 50 year old mango trees along the side boundary. The Hilaria House is a simple house and holiday weekends. Apart from the master bedroom is on the first floor of the home program is developed on the ground floor. Tea House by Archi-Union Architects

The Tea House, located in the backyard of Archi-Union’s J-office, is constructed from the salvaged parts of the original warehouse’s collapsed roof. The site was extremely constricted with walls on three sides, and with only one side facing towards an open space that contains a pool. The space was further restricted by a mature tree. The design tries to embody harmony by integrating enclosure and openness, delightful space and logical construction and other complicated relations. (more…)

Black & White House by Formwerkz Architects

Black White House by Formwerkz Architects

A 12000 sqm bungalow set in Caldecott drive, Singapore designed by formwerkz architects. Three volumes of varying sizes are arranged to take full advantage of this triangulated site. Blessed with a relatively untouched forest along the longest length of the site, we ran a 50m long, moat-like infinity pool along its boundary to reflect the foliage. The three volumes and its adjoining courtyards are entirely wrapped in black granite, in stark contrast to a predominately white interior. We created an atrium in the main block that vertically connects all the floors, from basement to the roof terrace. This high volume atrium space is adjacent to the front terrace, dining hall and the family room. It becomes the focal point where one will have to pass through while moving within or trying to enter or exit the house. (more…)
