Casa la Roca by Parque Humano

Concept for this project was to take advantage of the triangular plot, the slope of the land and the views towards the Cerro Gordo´s Natural Reserve. Casa la Roca is formed by Parque Humano as a homogenous mass, hollowing out a huge opening with an inviting forced perspective effect caused by the asymmetric walls that frames the natural panorama. With the objective of building an interior/exterior relation, the volumetric setting of sloping walls and slabs allow the visual journey from the interior space, deeply linking the project to the existing landscape, it is the exterior landscape which organizes our interior spaces. Bliss House by Bliss Spaces

Bliss House by Bliss Space in 25 Hurst Avenue, North London:
The two residences are each three stories tall and about 4,000 sq ft with 4 bedrooms and a backyard studio. A concrete foundation is topped with two levels of prefabricated materials that were assembled in just 6 days by 6 men minimizing disturbance in the neighborhood and speeding up construction time. Large open floor plans, clean lines and modern finishes create elegant, contemporary spaces in North London. Each home features radiant floor heating along with a heat recovery system, LED lighting, double glazed windows and wood burning stoves in the living room. (more…)

Distort House by TWS & Partners

Architecture Concept

Twisting out something from the usual line is taken in order to create different perception or to enrich some more quality. This happens to a house that we name it as The Distort House. It is located in the south of Jakarta which is still dominated by lush, tropical village forest in the neighborhood. In the front of the site itself lays a public park with some old big tropical trees. In response to those advantages, the house’s mass outline is shifted close to the back perimeter line of the site, and then twisted in 15 degree, leaving vast green area in the front. Sun House by Guz Architects

Sun House in Singapore by Guz Architects:
The sun house is a relatively compact house for Singapore on a roadside corner plot in an established bungalow area. We endeavored to make the most of the site by pushing the main ‘L’ shape of the building to the rear. This then created an open courtyard which was private but with still a feeling of openness on the relatively densely constructed site, thus still allowing for good views and airflow. We used the ponds and pool as cooling elements for the building as well as visual focal points. Volumes and space were maximized as much as possible by sharing the open staircase and double height living space with the courtyard area. At the end of the day the house was also designed around the owner, who had a lovely collection of artwork and sculptures and this inspired the creation of a large solid wall with niches which housed his artworks as well as giving the building an anchor on which to expand other spaces. Pawling Residence by SPG Architects

Pawling Residence in Pawling, New York by SPG Architects:
This 3,330 SF weekend getaway provides a private refuge for a NYC couple. The house sits on 5 semi-private acres. Its pavilion-like form nestles into a rise in the landscape allowing for the 2-story bedroom zone to seamlessly link with the main living areas, which contain living, dining, and kitchen functions. A dining terrace and a private master bedroom suite garden are defined as exterior rooms by concrete half walls that are extensions of the main house form. The gestural roofline slopes upward from the closed front facade to the more open rear facade and provides a sense of soaring relief as the occupant moves from the entry court to the expansive views beyond.
