Bogbain Mill in Lochussie by Rural Design

Mill by Rural Design

Rural Design has redesign a former mill building to a dramatic house in Dingwall, Scotland. The starting point was the few existing freestanding walls and creates a series of courtyards, some of which has begun to be re-inhabited by nature. The brief for this Mill House was for a large family house. Therefore the architect re-imagines the building in a progressive form, layering a series of forms over the ruins to create a clear juxtaposition of old and new. (more…)

Beam House by Uri Cohen Architects

Uri Cohen Architects designed the Beam House for a client who wished to build his home next to his farm in Arbel, Israel. The design combines some of the utilitarian images of the agriculture buildings in that area with the fascination to the ‘beams’ construction of a ‘country home’. (more…)

Panorama House by Moon Hoon

Seoul based architecture firm Moon Hoon has designed the Panorama House in Ochang-eup, South Korea. This suburb house was aimed as a place where their kids could play, read and study. Built in two storey where the lower floors for the kids and upper for their parent. (more…)

S Mahal House by Moon Hoon

S Mahal by Moon Hoon

The S Mahal House is designed by Korean architect Moon Hoon in Yangpyeong-gun, South Korea. The aim for this project is to build an inner court and madang where the client could raise animals, as well as a prayer room. Despite a budget that was on the tight side, the architect able to create seven inner courts including one for every room plus one in the center, while designing a circulatory balcony where there was sufficient space for the house owner and his cats and dogs to roam about freely.
