Luxury Joc House by Nico van der Meulen Architects
The Joc House was designed by Nico van der Meulen on a 10 000 square foot parcel of land. Situated on the north side overlooking a game reserve, it offers breathtaking vistas and surroundings. Upon arrival, a carriage entrance serves as a safety arrier and later gives way to the large glass main door. Behind it is an indoor swimming pool that continues outside where one can admire fantastic water displays created by a series of fountains spilling over the edges. All of this is made possible thanks to the north wall that is constructed entirely of glass sliding doors opening to the outside.
On the ground floor, the main room leads to two different living spaces: the dining room/family room and the kitchen. The latter intersects with a walk-in pantry, a cold storage room, a laundry room with access to the garages as well as big veranda with a barbecue less than three meters away from the kitchen and all of its conveniences. Nearby is the fabulous outdoor swimming pool overshadowed by the home’s signature massive black beam. The wall between the family room and the Lanai is entirely made out of glass and can be opened to enjoy Johannesburg’ s mild climate.
